What We Did
Bola chose our 'Site Build' package, and we kicked-off the project with a meeting to discuss the website requirements, look and feel, and some creative ideas for his logo. The initial design phase involved Leeann working with Bola to produce the logo, which helped shape the look and feel of the website. We then spent some time researching the best theme that could be used as a base for the website, selecting the Genesis Mai Pro Lifestyle theme for its clean design and extremely flexible content options.
We took a more organic approach to the design and build of the website, steering the design and layout as the website was developed and content was received. Once the main structure was in place we uploaded all the content and plugins, built the navigation, and configured the homepage.
Finally, we set-up the MailChimp list and email subscription campaign for Africana Q and integrated it into the new website.
We were approached by Bola to help him create a website for his vision of an African online lifestyle magazine. Inspired by a number of high-end men's magazines he was looking for a 'proof of concept' and wanted a slick, modern and elegant website plus some help creating a mini-brand for his project.
I came across Callia Web via google search and then saw a website they developed (Sourdough school) - I was impressed and I immediately contacted Callia Web - the response I received was prompt, courteous and professional' - speaking to Jo and Leeann was a very positive experience - they both took the time to understand my requirements and talk me through options - they were also patient with me as I gathered contents for my website. The website in itself is beautiful and I have received lots of positive comments from readers - I would like to say thank you to Jo and Leeann for making the web project a very positive experience - thank you
